Scene design, sets, and interactive murals accompany permanent exterior and interior murals at the HAHSM.
The HAHSM is part of a complex of civic institutions in Hayward, California. Their mission is to also known as the Hayward Museum of History and Culture, is to connect people with diverse histories, identities, and shared stories by collecting, studying, interpreting, and sharing the stories of the Hayward area.
Working with them produced more than just murals to include exhibition design and detailed temporary and permanent sets for the public to walk through time and history - from a natural history about the archipelago of the Easty Bay, to a commercial scene of old storefronts that you can walk through and engage with up close.
This series of works began in 2012, and concluded in 2016.
Working with Josh was a great experience. We collaborated on several projects for both the interior and exterior of our museum. He took my general description and created stunning works that brought history alive for our visitors. We constantly receive comments and compliments on our murals. Everyone should work with Josh!
