A popular stop on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Tour, the Rowell Ranch Rodeo is a community gathering place that is also nationally known. A community gathering place in the Castro Valley of Northern California, it is where the cowboys and the tech commuters connect in one of the most diverse places in the Bay Area.

The approach for this mural was a multi-layered vintage postcard style. Initially, it's a "Welcome to", but on closer inspection, featured are news clippings about the founder of the rodeo Harry Rowell, a rodeo clown, and famous local riders.

The production of this work is a bit different.... I paint on exterior rated panels in studio, and then install on site, avoiding dust and dirt in the drying process, and an easy installation for the site.
