Branding, signage, and exterior for upscale mezcaleria with mexican fare.

Commerical Signage

Odin

2003

When the owners of Nido’s Backyard in Oakland, California, opened their upscale mezcalería, they were looking for something that hearkened to the energy of Nido’s, but with a more sophisticated and understated feel. We began with a custom-designed typeface that speaks to 1960s Mexico City.

Then we created a mural that provides location identification while remaining ultra-contemporary and upscale. This particular mural complements and parallels the mural in a typical restaurant project, but is atypical in that it is as sophisticated in design as it is relaxing… dare we say - to wait for a seat in this Oakland hot spot.
